Tales of the Justice Society of America #48
CRISIS ON EARTH-PRIME COMES TO AN END THIS WEEK WITH A CONCLUSION THAT WILL… FRUSTRATE THE CRAP OUT OF YOU! Hey, everybody! Scott and Mike are back after a looong […]
TALES IS BACK, EVERYONE, AND THE GUYS HAVE ONE MORE DETOUR TO TAKE BEFORE RETURNING TO THEIR REGULAR PROGRAMMING!
You would think that after going through an epic storyline like CRISIS ON EARTH-PRIME that the very next story would be just as epic, continuing an epic trend that redefines the very concept of epic. You’d like to think that, wouldn’t you? Well… that doesn’t happen here. Instead, Scott and Mike discuss ALL-STAR SQUADRON ANNUAL #1.
Don’t get the guys wrong, this isn’t a terrible issue. It has some impressive art and Mike is over the moon about the fact that the Guardian makes an appearance. The story isn’t all that bad either, as we see three heroes (Wildcat, the Atom, and the previously mentioned Guardian) linked by a common bond. Green Lantern, Flash, and Wonder Woman team-up with said heroes to fight evil and stuff. In theory it should have been cool. It is the execution that left something to be desired.
Scott also says the words, “nut hugger.” Mike is still uncomfortable.
Fair warning, folks… the language is a bit… saltier than it usually is on this show. Sure, Scott and Mike have a tendency to make sailors and truckers blush with their potty mouths, but this time it is a bit different. Maybe it is the fact that both of them were drinking heavily before, during, and after the recording session and considering the fact that Mike has the alcohol tolerance of a five year old Amish girl he shouldn’t be imbibing anyway. So, keep this one away from the kids and throw on a pair of headphones if you are at work.
Because Scott and Mike care.
About what, they have no idea.
