It’s time for everyone’s favorite variety concert act, as this month on Earth Destruction Directive, we play “That’s Familiar!” We kick things off with not one, but TWO episodes of Ultraman which feature monsters who even the not-so-discerning critic will most likely recognize: Gabora (he’s got four legs, scales on his back, and a long tail) and Jirass (he’s an upright dinosaur that breathes fire and has forward-set eyes). That’s alright though, because Ultraman is on the case to keep these recycled menaces from causing too much trouble. Then it’s time for the familiar team of Moench and Trimpe in the pages of Shogun Warriors, as they take on the unfamiliar scenario of a kid being trapped inside Combatra!
