The Man of Screen Podcast Episode 126 – Superfriends: 1980 Weeks 3 and 4

In episode 126 of the Man of Screen podcast, Mike Zummo continues his run through the fifth season of Superfriends, the 1980 shorts.

First, someone is going to be dug out of Stonehenge. Of course, we find ourselves some kind of mysterious space vampire.

So what will happen when the Superfriends face “Yuna, the Terrible”?

So, are you ready to rock?

You should be because aliens are coming to Earth and they want to jam. And their music is oh-so hypnotic.

Is this a job or the Wonder Twins, or will the world fall victim to the “Rock and Roll” Space Bandits”?

Then Wonder Woman and the Atom are going to take a ride.

In an elevator.

And its a time traveling elevator and Atom and Wonder Woman ride the “Elevator to Nowhere.”

Then were going to have to deal with a prison break on Mars. Because apparently thats where we keep the alien offenders.

How exactly does Superman give Mother Nature a hug?

Then were going to Gotham Cemetery, where were going to encounter a creepy looking house and a couple of teenagers are going to go in because thats what teenagers do.

But they find themselves in over their heads and the Superfriends have to rescue them from “The Haunted House”

So then were going to finish the episode off by going north where theres going to be an oil spill thats going to become an oil monster because thats what happens in these cartoons.

How will Aquaman and Hawkman and Hawkgirl clean this mess up? And how is laundry detergent involved.

How will they beat the “The Incredible Crude Oil Monster”.
