In episode 79 of The Man of Screen podcast, Mike Zummo will conclude his coverage of Season 1 of the Filmation Superman and Superboy cartoons.
First were going to get a story that probably should have come earlier in the production as we meet a familiar foe for the first – or third – time in “Superman Meets Brainiac”. Then Superboy will put on a different costume and have “A Devil of a Time”. And then some pods will fall from space and spread the “Seeds of Disaster”.
And then for the final episodes of Season 1. Lois and Clark will take a trip to Egypt where they will face “The Malevolent Mummy”. Superboy visits a true City of Tomorrow that goes horribly wrong in “The Revolt of Robotville”. And then Superman will make second contact with “The Bird-Men of Lost Valley”. First contact didnt go so well.
Next time: Season 2 of The New Adventures of Superman. “A.P.E. Strikes Again”, “The Lethal Lightning Bug”, “The Prankster” and “The Saboteurs”. Dont foget the Superboy episodes, “The Beast With Two Faces” and “The Gorilla Gang”.
