Listen to the Prophets #19: In the Hands of the Prophets

The guys at LISTEN TO THE PROPHETS: A STAR TREK DEEP SPACE NINE PODCAST wrap up their coverage of Season One with the episode “In the Hands of the Prophets”. Political and religious tensions heat up on the station as Vedek Winn, played perfectly by the amazing Louise Fletcher, visits DS9 to make sure that Bajoran philosophy is being taught in Keiko O’Brien’s school. Of course, it’s not being taught to the extent the wannabe Kai desires, so a religious split between the Bajorans and the Federation is poised to break out, threatening all that Sisko and company have worked for over the past year. It’s our first real look at the devious machinations that will be a centerpiece of the series’ run and a great ending to the one of the best first seasons of Star Trek since the Original Series. Plus, Paul, Andy, and Shawn discuss the season as a whole and give their high and low points (ALAMARAINE!!!).
