In this week’s ball-jamming episode, continues an idea from last year. This is the second edition of Musical Magnus, an irregular feature of Trentus Magnus Punches Reality wherein His Excellency talks not about comics, not above movies and not about TV shows.
If you’re completely stupid and can’t figure out what the subject matter of Musical Magnus might be… well, you probably shouldn’t operate heavy farm machinery.
But, in brief, Musical Magnus represents an opportunity to salute fine albums. And in this week’s ball-jamming episode, Magnus is once again joined by host of the Pop Culture Affidavit podcast, lead blogger of the Pop Culture Affidavit blog, all-around nice guy, eccentric millionaire and patron of the arts Mr. Tom Panarese!
This week the guys listen to R.E.M.’s ‘Automatic for the People’ album.
Actually, they listened to the album prior to recording. But you get the idea.
The $64,000 Question: What did Magnus and Tom think of this album? Well, a better question is would they bother recording for three hours about an album they absolutely loathe?
The answer begins with “h” and ends with “ell no”.
Due to the barrage of badassery this week, unfortunately there’s just no time for listener feedback this week. But don’t cry about it because there was some not long ago and there’ll be more in the future!
Dry your eyes! Feedback will be addressed in just a few weeks. As a matter of fact, several upcoming episodes will feature feedback sections.
Still, this would be an opportune time to send in any feedback you may have as the vault could get totally cleared out of feedback in the relatively near future. So get to writing!
In the meantime, though, don’t let the lack of feedback this time get you down! You can still offer your feeble effort at tribute! You humble serfs are always welcome to kiss your benevolent leader’s ring. Corrupt DiManzocorp interns are ready, willing, able and eager to accept your bribe to present your meager missives to your wise emperor. The email address to use is trentusmagnus@gmail.com as the other seems to be having technical problems.
In an another sublime act of truly unprecedented charity, your emperor permits you lowly rabble to suggest topics for a future episode. Thus, petitions may be sent to trentusmagnus@gmail.com for DiManzocorp interns to review, whereupon your leader might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that’s a promise!
