WELCOME TO YET ANOTHER INSTALLMENT OF EARTH-2 COMIC BOOK AWESOME SAUCE!

That’s right, folks. This week, Scott and Mike hop back into the Flux Capacitor fueled 1991 Toyota Corolla (c’mon, like either one of these clowns could afford a DeLorean!) and head back to December, 1941 to talk about ALL-STAR SQUADRON #4.

In this exciting issue, the All-Stars head to Pearl Harbor and decide that it is high time to take the fight to the Japanese! Problem is that the Dragon King, evil agent of the Axis powers, is ready for them with the Holy Grail and a whole lot of pseudo-science/mysticism. This results in the most powerful members of the All-Stars going all evil and trying to kill their fellow members!

The conversation is fast, loose, and lively — centering around the use of racial epithets in the context of stories set in the past and why Mike freakin’ hates the Dragon King. PLUS — there are ads (including a Hostess ad involving the Penguin where the Gotham PD actually does something for once in their miserable lives)!!

Also — Elsewhere in the DC Multiverse!!

Then, it’s back to the Corolla (which really sucks because, for some reason, when the car is idling the air conditioning stops working and hot air blows out of the vents!! It’s summer, for crying out loud!! IT IS HOT!!) and a quick jaunt ahead to the somewhat more recent Earth-2 timeline where the fellas discuss the Huntress back-ups from WONDER WOMAN #271 through 273.

The guys don’t have too much to say about this story because it is… well… goofy as hell. I mean, the main thrust of this story is the fact that Solomon Grundy is leading a gang and stealing art. Seriously. Solomon Grundy: Gang Leader. Who in their their right mind would belong to a gang led by Solomon Freakin’ Grundy?! He’s A Zombie, For Chrissakes!!

After trying to make heads or tails of that, the guys read some of YOUR e-mails!! Scott reveals his TRUE FEELINGS about the Super Friends — during which Mike very nearly steps in it regarding the live action SHAZAM series, until Scott finally realizes the point Mike was trying to make — and thus WAR is narrowly avoided.

TWO HOURS OF THE BEST PODCASTING YOU WILL HEAR ALL WEEK! Guaranteed or we start shooting the hostages!!

Next week: ALL-STAR SQUADRON #5 and BRAVE AND THE BOLD #182. Make sure you take some good notes because there will be a quiz!

NOTE — The Two True Freaks! now have a phone line where you can call and leave a completely inappropriate message – We just might use it on the show! It’s 585-COP-LURE!! ( 1-585-267-5873 )
