Here it is! For those of you who have been patient with us as we allowed real life to interfere with our release schedule, we're rewarding (punishing?) you with A Week of Geeks! Each day for the next week, you'll hear a brand new episode of Dinner 4 Geeks. That means you'll get seven episodes in a row, more than we released in the second half of last year! And these episodes go wayyyyy back. See, it's not that we haven't been having dinner. We just haven't had the time to edit the dinners into a somewhat listenable podcast. We're not promising the release schedule will be roses from here out, but we CAN say that we have over 30 dinners we haven't released and we're still recording nearly every single week, so we still have a lot to say! A lot of it is redundant and inane, but we use a lot of words when we do it.

In this episode, Scott thinks it'll be a neat idea to give his fellow geeks some prizes if they can answer Star Wars trivia questions. However, he buys a cheap ebook to get the questions from and the book proves near-incomprehensible! Stubborn to the end, Scott refuses to drop and the Geeks embark upon a maddening, frustrating Star Wars trivia quiz.

I have no idea how this didn't make it into the TTF feed, but this is an episode that came out seeral months ago, yet somehow never materialized on this feed. Apologies for that, and if you think D4G is going away any time soon (just because we haven't been, like, making new episodes and stuff), you're wrong. In fact, starting this Sunday we're going to reward your patience with what I call AWOG.

Here's the text from the original episode release below:

You know how some things just have a way of taking D4G totally off the rails? Which is why you love us right? Well, the guys try to talk about the D23 announcement of a Star Wars Land at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. But that only leads Scott to childhood memory of a Scooby Doo episode wherein they visit a Westworld-type amusement park. Ron thinks he's full of baloney, but is he...?

We valiantly tried to be the first podcasters to put a commentary track for The Force Awakens online. Steve Glosson and Scott made plans and set a date to record, and THEN Rebel Force Radio beat them to the punch. The boys decided to soldier on anyway. Listen and enjoy! Take it to theater with you and listen the next time you watch TFA!

One thing I'll say about this episode, it is probably the most immediate of the 78 bazillion Force Awakens recaps out there. The Geeks (minus Ron; long story) travel a couple of hours to St. Augustine to catch the first show on The Force Awakens in IMAX 3D, and then immediately hit a restaurant to do what they do best--er, well--er, often, and that's voice boisterous opinions over meals.

NOTE: The background music is a bit louder than usual, as we were seated at a much larger table than usual (we all brought our families) and we were placed directly under a LOUD speaker.

Going through some older files the other day, I came across this episode that was never cleaned up and released. I finally figured out why: it conflicted with our one and only attempt at a Final 4 Geeks contest. However, once I opened it and began to work on it, I found it to be the dirtiest, filthiest, nastiest episode we've ever recorded. We ate while we recorded it. You might not want to while you listen!

Believe it or not , the Geeks have been having their regular dinners and recording them. They just haven't been putting them out lately. This one being on the eve of Force Friday, we decided to put it out there. It also addresses the story of Disney's deeming Age of Ultron a "failure." This one was almost called Dinner 2 Geeks, but the theme of women was so rampant throughout the episode, we had no choice. THey disagree on Jurassic World, they talk Doctor Who, and then Ron drops the bombshell: his theory on the subtext of Jurassic World!

And then, Scott had to travel seven hours to Pensacola when he would have rather been subjecting himself to the torture of editing this show. So, at long last, it's here. And if you think we stick to Apes for the entire show, thyen you haven't listened to D4G before. Welcome aboard. It's a fun ride!

Guest geeks Matt and Sam join us again as Ron goes AWOL for Scout Camp. Ryan comes in complaining about his new ReAction Rocketeer action figures. This obviously leaves him in a sad mood as he starts to inquire of our younger guest geeks about the national tragedies they'd endured. After that we take a run through the mailbag. I'll tell you what is terrific. When we first started this podcast, we were desperate for an email. NOw, we get more than we can keep up with! Keep them coming. geeks@dinner4geeks.com .

This week we're joined by our guest Geek Godzilla! Actually it's the Jakks Pacific giant Godzilla brought along by one of our Guest Geeks this week. Jeff had prior commitments, so it took TWO guest geeks to fill his seat (ahem). Matt Colvin returns and brings with him Sam Arbo! RYan makes sure to give Scott giref over his brand new Dinner 4 Geeks t-shirt (which can be found at the D4G shop at http://cafepress.com/dinner4geeks), then Ron makes a correction to Scott's scomments on teh Two True Freaks roundtable, but makes an error himself. Then we get gneerational, tlaking about the differences in Khan preference amongst generations and we try to explain to the kids about the world BSW (Before Star Wars). Oh, and Scott waxes poetically about a podcast he has fallen in love with, Star Wars Oxygen). Hey, everybody. Ryfun here. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Remember when we did the Final Four Geeks? Well, at that time, you may have noticed a shift to a closer to day and date release schedule...or maybe you didn't. Either way, we had actually shifted to a "week of" release schedule in order to maximize our conversations about current events. However, this left a couple of unused epiosodes in the hopper. Like this one, for example. And, well, this week, three of the four geeks took off on me, so we couldn't record. So you get this instead. And to tell you the truth, I'm glad we finally got to share this one with you. We recorded it back in March, and we talk about the future of action figures, and close strong with Atari 2600 nostalgia that goes, as is typical for us, nowhere you'd think it would, but yet, is golden!

Oh, the trouble with selling scooters on Craig's List. And that's not a euphemism. Then the talk is about toys and what it it took to make a toy get our nattention, what we did with them, and how we paid for them. Jeff and Scott discuss the anniversary 2-CD set KISS40. And then our attention turns to our comments on X-Men: Days of Future Past. Ron's off next week, so enjoy him while you can!

In this episode we also discuss the impending demise of the Expanded Universe. Mark this one, too: Ryan says he will not buy any of the new action figures for Episodes VII, VIII, and IX. Write that down. We WILL hold it against him later. Ron recaps GnomeCon 2014 and fondly recalls the Con-Funk. We then all try to quit the podcast and compare ourselves to the Beatles. Is that a stretch? Listen and see...wait, listen and see? We talk about creative playtime during our childhoods. Also, parody mags like Mad, Cracked, Crazy, Sick, and Stupid. This week the Geeks find themselves joined by…a girl! However will this unfold? D4G listener Alison, who questions her geek credentials, joins the geeks and finds her inner geek. Ron runs late, so the Pacific Rim discussion doesn’t get to reach full flower, though Jeff and Scott saw it, and Ryan has good insight into the toy situation. Scott brings an item he found in his storage unit and lets the others try to guess what it is. Can you figure it out before they do? Then, there’s the adventures in a magic shop. Trust us, it explains a lot. This week we also unveil a new feature called the Core 4: four things in a given topic that help define you. The inaugural list: Core 4 Geek Movies.

Ryan recaps his alcohol-fueled trip to Puerto Rico and discusses the new Star Trek internet productions. The guys engage in a live internet meme. How do you treat bad movies, like, say, Never Too Young to Die? We have to explain what Dial MTV was to Ryan. Scott's big rant is EU-related and places a target squarely on Timothy Zahn. Jeff spars over the Star Trek movies vs. Voyager.

We're compiling a listener questions episode. ANY questions whatsoever can be emailed to dinner4geeks@gmail.com

Ronald hated Jaws...the book, not that television horseshit. He tell us in exacting detail why. Scott recaps a few of the high- and low-lights of his recent trip to New York City. Jeff talks about Seinfeld and Letterman together. And the Sears Wish Book plays an important role in our childhoods.

Here it is! The audio of the Dinner 4 Geeks panel at Ancient City Con 7 in Jacksonville, Florida. We paid good gas money to drive down and we even had to buy tickets to the convention to get in to host our panel (I wish I were kidding about that), and we had practically no one in the room who wasn't related to one of us. One the other hand, we had the room to ourselves, the acoustics were great, and we had a good laugh at all the people who poked their heads in the door thinking we were SERVING a dinner for geeks. Along the way, we discuss cons in general and Man of Steel!

The title of the episode is used but is only tangential to the action. However, it does sound like one of the all-time greatest pickup lines, so we used it for the episode title. For the second week in a row, Ron misses the show, so Jeff (FINALLY) gets his geek brother to do the show with us. What follows is basically us conducting a Mike Douglas Show-style interview with him. Along the way we geek out about Star Trek, You Can't Do That on Television, Big Bang Theory, Action Figures, Marvel Comics, Cinefantastique, and a WHOLE lot more!

Ron's missing! As in, not there, so all you Ron fans are in for a big disappointment. What do you mean which one is he? Jeff and Scott reminisce about 4th of July and Jeff's birthday and the connection between the two. And Ryan reminisces about that terrific Velvet Jones movie.

Scott recaps a trip to Star Wars Weekends, which does include his full 31 inches of awesomeness. Ron went to the barber. After we slagged Star Trek Into Darkness the week before, Ryan decided to see it! Wha--? Jeff gets into Game of Thrones and some of the major events.

Yes, for whatever reason everything leads back to a Hitler joke. Are hitlers jokes appropriate? Probably not, but what the hell? It's just dinner, right? We get Ron's take on Star Trek Into Darkness. The sad, sad, sad history of toy adapatations leads to a discussion about what kind of toy adaptation Ryan would like to make. And for good measure, since making repeated Hitler jokes wasn't enough, we start making a few racist jokes, too! I would say you had to be there, but through the magic of podcasting you ARE there. God help you.

No, seriously, this episode is about spoilers and how sacred they are, and what the shelf life is on them. That having been said, we discuss a LOT of classic spoilers. If you haven't seen Lost, Soylent Green, Citizen Kane (first time those two were ever uttered in the same sentence, I'll bet!), The Empire Strikes Back, The Sixth Sense, The Crying Game, or Planet of teh Apes, turn back now! Don't say we didn't warn you. However, we do talk about spoilers within the context of Star Trek Into Darkness and somehow manage to NOT ruin it!

The Geeks revisit Scott's belief that everyone has a super power, no matter how insignificant. His is the Naked Hex, which somehow leads to a discussion of Harvey Keitel's propensity for nudity...don't ask, just listen. Then it ADDs itself right into a talk about the Star Wars Holiday Special, which segues into KISS Meets the Phantom and the realization that these two TV gems aired within a few weeks of each other! Atari 2600s, 5600s, and 7800s get their moment on this episode of D4G, as does Kool-Aid Man!

The Geeks come to grips with the fact that a large number of the people they talk about on the show die shortly after they are discussed on the program. Of course, most of these people are in their 80s or 90s or are gravely ill, but still... Scott remembers being dressed down by Greg Brady... Ryan looks a stranger up in the phone book at 1am and calls him! Ron has a fit over a box of Star Wars fruit snacks... Jeff is prepared to discuss sequels that enhace and sequels that harm the legacies of the originals.

This week, the Geeks pay tribute to Roger Ebert, except Ron, who hated the man and will probably burn for what he says. Scott believes the end is near for the EU. Ryan has a what's-it-called. Jeff asks everyone to name their guilty pleasures, only so he can make an admission of his own...

Another new venue for the Geeks and this one...well, while there's some good stuff here, it may have been better if we'd just published a transcript. Through the course of things we touch on, despite an overwhelming background noise, PS 238, serious Star Wars, Torchwood, the iPhone's resistance to toilet water, Marvel Unlimited app, the end of Argo, geek gaming, our video game wish list, Saturday morning kids shows, and Ryan's Sleestak action figure. I tell you all this because you may not be able to make it out.

THIS time Jeff is missing! We STILL don't have four geeks! Still, it's another fun dinner with the Geeks. And, of course, Star Wars always does and always will come up frequently.

The inaugural edition of Dinner 4 Geeks gets off to an inauspicious start, as one of the 4 Geeks, Ryan, can't make it to the recording. That's okay, though. We carry on without him, and we talk about him behind his back as well. Plus, lots and lots of Star Wars, with a little Twilight Zone, Ultraman, and more thrown into the discussion.
