Fear the Walking Dead recaps with Scott McGregor and Brian and Beth Hughes return for the second half of the second season. Now as an official Two True Freaks show, Fear the Walking Deadcast will bring you a weekly review all season long and we might even cross the border into The Walking Dead proper if we think our emotions can handle it. This week we find Nick on his own and headed to Tijuana for a rousing road trip to find some new undead buddies and the living people who love them. Dogs are killed (You assholes AMC), bandits shoot badly and zombie fiction meets Pulp Fiction. So join us as Nick goes into the wild of the Mexican countryside and learns that his Los Angeles addict survival skills don't necessarily work on the open desert road.

I'd usually put together some kind of smartass blurb here but I put together the art for this episode using Gimp, the frustration from which is beginning to tempt me into smashing my computer into a thousand pieces and scattering the splinters to the wind.

You'll take what you get and you'll like it.

Oh, and I talk about religion in this episode. Listener discretion is not only advised, it is actively encouraged.

Greetings heroic bingewatchers and welcome to the inaugural episode of Weekly Heroics (except for all that non-canon Preacher stuff we did) where Scott McGregor and Chris Tyler recap one Marvel and one DC television episode. This week we start our indexing of ABC TV's "Marvel Agents of SHIELD" with the pilot episode and on the DC side we talk about the triumphant first episode of the CW's "The Flash." So go boot up the Netflix and revisit these early seasons and then settle back and listen to us discuss what a great time it is for fans of comic based TV.

In this week's ball-stretching episode, Magnus resumes the ongoing continuation of the proceeding of Tremendous Bendis Weekly, a megaseries dedicated to some comics written by Brian Michael Bendis that are actually pretty kewl.

Remember when people used to type "kewl"? And wasn't it rad?

Maybe not...

Anyway, these Bendis comics are pretty rad though and that's why His Excellency is spending so much freaking time talking about them!

The main reason for that is because Bendis certainly has his share of detractors.

Whatever the cause of the discontent might be, a lot of comic mavens turn their noses up merely at the name "Bendis" in the credits.

But Magnus is having none of that, ladies and gentlemen!

Yes indeed, kiddos, while Magnus is hardly a Bendis devotee (particularly lately), it would be accurate to say that His Excellency has enjoyed several Bendis stories and, it so happens, was in a mood to gab about some Bendis stories.

And, to finally get to the point here, the spotlight shines this week on the 'Fantastic' storyline from Ultimate Fantastic Four #01-#06.

What's so special about Fantastic, you ask? In part, it relates to His Excellency's relative ignorance about Fantastic Four comics; a fact, by the way, Bendis detractors should keep in mind when they type up their weekly hate mail.

For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "Reed thought Victor was making improvements to the computer but then *THIS* happened!"

Due to the deluge of ass-kickery, unfortunately there's just no time for listener feedback this week.

However, there has been a fair amount of feedback (and feed-forward!) fairly recently so this subject hasn't been entirely ignored.

Patience! The vast backlog of feedback will be addressed in due time. Next week, in fact! So fear not, true believer!

In the meantime, though, don't let the lack of feedback this time get you down! You can still offer your feeble effort at tribute! You humble serfs are always welcome to kiss your benevolent leader's ring. Corrupt DiManzocorp interns are ready, willing, able and eager to accept your bribe to present your meager missives to your wise emperor. The email address to use is trentusmagnus@gmail.com as the other seems to be having technical problems.

In an another sublime act of truly unprecedented charity, your emperor permits you lowly rabble to suggest topics for a future episode. Thus, petitions may be sent to trentusmagnus@gmail.com for DiManzocorp interns to review, whereupon your leader might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that's a promise!

Thirty years ago, Rob Reiner directed the seminal coming-of-age film Stand By Me. To celebrate its anniversary, Michael Bailey and I take a look at the film as well as the Stephen King novella "The Body," upon which it's based; as well as the music on its soundtrack. We also discuss why it's an essential movie for anyone who grew up in the 1980s.

Show notes and pictures are available at Pop Culture Affidavit, which is also where you can see regular weekly blog entries about the randomness that is pop culture.
