Disenfranchised by the modern comics industry, Paul Spataro and Dr. Bill Robinson now ply the timestream in a never-ending quest to re-discover and re-connect with that unique brand of fun and excitement that can only truly be found in good ol' fashioned randomly-selected Comic Book back issues!! Journey with them now...back...Back To The Bins!!

It's time once again for another episode of Just One of the Guys, the show that's looking at the Green Lantern comics from the late 1980's until the early 2000's. And in this issue, we're covering Green Lantern #128, the last of the fill-in issues written by Jay Faerber. But even though that should fill a normal reader with concern, let me tell you, it shouldn't, as this is a incredibly fun romp in the lines of 80's action movies like Lethal Weapon. Except substituting Green Lantern and Arsenal for Murtaugh and Riggs. Jokes about substance abuse abound!

Plus, in our second book, we take a look at another 80's action movie icon, the Aliens. In Green Lantern Versus Aliens #1, Hal Jordan and a group of the Corps finest are set to a planet that is having a little xenomorph problem, and Hal comes up with a stunning idea to take care of them...he has the Corpsmen transport them all to Mogo to live in peace and harmony. Which would be fine until a space ship crash lands on Mogo. Way to go, Hal...way to go. But since this book deals with a horror icon (the Aliens, not Arsenal's haircut), I've got an extremely special guest to accompany me on the show. He is fifty percent of the Two True Freaks and the man who gave me my first shot at podcasting, Mr. Chris Honeywell. So basically I get Chris to read TWO Goddam Super Hero Comics! Huzzah! So unless you want to share some chili with Oliver Queen (and not that way, you pervs!), I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening!

After an extended Summer break, the Who True Freaks are back to take a look at the brand new, all old Doctor, Peter "Eyebrows" Capaldi, in his first full episode, DEEP BREATH. Does this new Doctor stand up to the previous versions? Does the supporting cast help sell this new Doctor or hold him back? Has Clara gotten even hotter as a companion or is she last week's news? You'll have to listen as Shawn Engel, Hope Mullinax, Doctor Bill Robinson, The Irredeemable Shag, Chris Tyler, and Stephen Lacey discuss and dissect this Season Eight opener. Make sure to hold your breath!

Given that Micheal Bailey was doing nothing with it, we decided to steal his idea - hurrumph, pay homage, by devoting a number of weeks to that most maligned of decades - the 1990's. Kicking off with three of the most successful comics ever published, the Million Selling Spider-Man #1 by Todd McFarlane, X-Force #1 by Rob Liefeld and X-Men #1 by Jim Lee. Hateful bygones of an era best forgotten? Or not that bad, really?

In this latest ball-boiling episode, Magnus continues the critically-sainted Superman Megaseries by taking a look at Superman vol. 1 #01 and #02, the first Golden Age comics this series has ever covered.

What did His Excellency think of these quaint old relics from a bygone era? Well, saying so here means you wouldn't have to listen to the episode. And that would be bad. Mmmkay?

Also, Magnus opens the old mailbag and responds to some feedback from you lowly peasants this week.

If any of you simpletons have a suggestion for a topic, you should feel free to e-mail your wise leader at trentusmagnus@gmail.com and he might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that's a promise!

Feedback for this and any other episode may be sent to trentusmagnus@gmail.com.

As a follow up to Defence Of The Sith, Andrew rewatches Attack Of The Clones and reads the novel and once again does a compare and contrast thing. Do things work out as well in this case? Or is Clones a good film if you read the book? Given that it's all of 40 minutes, I figure you can listen and find out.
