High school reunion month concludes with my all-time favorite reunion movies and one of my all-time favorite John Cusack movies, Grosse Pointe Blank. For this look at the high school reunion of Martin Blank, professional killer, I'm joined by Michael Bailey (From Crisis to Crisis, Tales of the JSA, Views from the Longbox) and we talk about the movie, its characters, its music, and how well it holds up nearly 20 years after its release.

Show notes and pictures are available at Pop Culture Affidavit, which is also where you can see regular weekly blog entries about the randomness that is pop culture.

The Triumvirate of Talent known as Andrew Leyland, Paul Spataro, and Shawn Engel come together once again to bring you another scintillating episode of LISTEN TO THE PROPHETS: A STAR TREK DEEP SPACE NINE PODCAST. And once again we're brought back into the world of the most interesting alien race on DS9, as we take a look at the title characters, the Cardassians. When plain simple Garak encounters a young Cardassian boy being raised by Bajoran parents, questions arise as to whom the boy truly belongs, his adoptive parents or his biological Cardassian parents who just so happen to be a major political rival of Gul Dukat. And the idea of who should gain cutsody of this orphan prompts Garak and Bashir to do some investigating and prompts your hosts to rave about how magnificent Andrew Robinson is for every moment he is on the screen. Once again we get some of the best Star Trek the series had to offer. So what are you waiting for? Download the show already, and take some time out of your day to...LISTEN TO THE PROPHETS.

In this week's ball-masking episode, Magnus carries on with a year of nearly uninterrupted miniseries dedicated to one specific theme, topic, character, idea, nose-berry or storyline!

Extinction Level Event continues! The stakes haven't been this high since last week! The fate of the entire planet is at stake as these aliens continue their all-out assault on the whole world even though we mostly just see the action in one particular city. Mankind's first, last, only and best hope is group of superhuman who don't even fully trust each other. They alone can turn the tide!

BUT WILL WILL THEY SUCCEED?

The discussion this week finds Magnus and Michael Bailey from every freaking podcast on the entire Internet serve Marvel's Secret Invasion limited series a Cosbypolitan and taking turns with it. Jokes are made, story arcs are analyzed, characterization is studied and fun is had.

Is that enough hype yet?

Magnus and Bailey inevitably draw comparisons between this and certain other high profile Marvel crossovers.

For those of you who contribute to the ruination of creativity on the Inter by always succumbing to click-bait marketing, "You won't believe which story Magnus enjoys more than Secret Invasion!"

Because of the splendid epicness wrought by your emperor and his loyal podcasting vassal, there's simply no opportunity for feedback this week. Indeed, there's not likely to be time for feedback during *ANY* of the Extinction Level Event megaseries megaevent of mega epic meat-eating, red-blooded *AWESOMENESS*.

But don't let that discourage you! The rest of you humble serfs are always welcome to pay your feeble attempts at homage to your leader. DiManzocorp interns are ready, willing, able and eager to accept bribes to present your meager missives to your wise leader. The email address to use is excellency@trentusmagnus.com, whereupon your leader might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that's a promise!

In an another sublime act of unprecedented charity, the leader permits you lowly rabble to kiss his ring regarding this or any other episode. Thus, notes of loyalty may be sent to excellency@trentusmagnus.com for DiManzocorp interns to review.

This week- Dave begins his crossover double feature of double features by following the Zodiac Key into Iron Man #35.

Daredevil gets dragged, literally, into Iron Man's mess of spies, ethereal ankh-shaped keys, and femme fatales with metal faces.

At the heart of the matter is a mysterious artifact being used by a crime cartel, and when the power of the Zodiac Key is revealed, it may spell doom for the world.

Still slogging through the Ben Raab run on Green Lantern, we're finally nearing the end in issue 174 of the book. Now that Salmon Shadowhawk, a.k.a. Vasquez, a.k.a. Green Lantern Kyle Rayner has ingratiated himself with Amon Sur and the Black Circle, you'd think he wouldn't do something stupid like reveal his secret identity to the bounty hunter that was chasing him down over the past few issues. Well, you'd be wrong, because Ben Raab is writing this book and he's bound and determined to make EVERY character in this book act like a complete idiot. Or in the case of Jenny Lynn Hayden, a complete tramp who feels the need to spy on her boyfriend...no not Kyle, her OTHER boyfriend...who just happens to be as much of a philanderer as she is. GRRRrrrr!!! But to soften the blow, we do get some improved artwork by one of my favorite current artists, Jamal Igle, so that helps soften the blow. And we only have one more issue of this, so things are looking up. So unless you want to get and acid hand slap to the eyes (which might be preferable if this were last week's issue), I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening!

Everything's a laugh riot here for this episode of my DC Comics retrospective, as I take a look at books that put the funny in funny books! I start out by taking a very quick look at couple of the short comic strips in New Fun Comics #5, then Brett and I read a story from Sugar and Spike #3 before Michael Bailey joins me for an in-depth discussion of The Adventures of Jerry Lewis #86. Finally, I finish up with quick looks at Ambush Bug #4, Ambush Bug Nothing Special #1, and Bizarro #2.

Comments and feedback are appreciated on the Pop Culture Affidavit Facebook page or by emailing me at popcultureaffidavit@gmail.com. Enjoy the show!
